Update On My Last Two Posts
Greetings to you, my blogging friends. I finally updated my last two posts. I promised that I would post pictures of the family outing we took - a weekend trip with our off road club. If you want to read the long-winded stories that go with the pictures, click on the links below.
Here are some pictures that can be found on Part One:
Here is a picture that can be found on part two:
The location is Dumont Dunes, which is in the California desert south of Death Valley. Anyone who has ever driven from the Los Angeles area to Las Vegas, Nevada, is probably familiar with the desert city of Baker, where the world's tallest thermometer is located. Dumont Dunes is about 40 miles north of Baker off Interstate 15, and on a clear night (which we didn't have on our trip) you can see the illumination in the sky to the northeast of Dumont Dunes. That illumination is caused by the casinos at the California-Nevada state line.

thanks for the photos-I love that area (but not in the summer). I once had a transmission to malfunction south of Vegas in July--luckily, it was still under warrantary.

Great photos, and I love the world's tallest thermometer . . . isn't the restaurant there the Bun and Run?

I actually threw up in the parking lot near the world's tallest thermometer. Good times.

Sage,
Thanks for stopping by. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that area in summer.
Diane,
I thought the name of the restaurant was the Bun Boy, & when I Googled it, I found a Bun Boy Motel in Baker. I don't think I want to stay there.
Pru,
Way to leave your mark on the world! Happy Turkey Day to you and yours too.

Great photographs!
The one of Dumont Dunes is spectacular. But as an indoors person I don't think I'll be visiting the Dunes anytime soon. Lol.
Glad to hear the trip was such joy and fun.
